Thanks for praying...
The prayers worked! Thanks everyone. Jacoby felt much better today, the back pain subsided, and she had a good therapy session.
“Again, truly I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.”

Rough Day...
Honestly, today was a bit of a rough day for Jacoby. She was constantly plagued by some false senses of burning on her back. This is fairly common for those that have spinal cord injuries, but was especially bad today... The feelings started to subside just before bedtime, but please pray that these feelings totally subside and that she will continue to have mental strength.

Outing to UW gymnastics meet...
Jacoby made it on her first outing last night without having to cancel due to illness, etc.! We attended the home opener of the UW women's gymnastics team. Way to go on a great team win! The team was very hospitable and did some fundraising for her as well. I think they officially won us over as new UW fans! Thanks to the UW team and staff and to all of Jacoby's teammates that went to help out as well.

Working hard...
Jacoby continues to work hard during her PT sessions. She has gained a great deal of stamina when sitting up and balancing on her own. A big thank you to her gym friend, Mary, for coming over and helping out during the sessions. We think Jacoby works even harder with Mary helping out!
Also, a big thank you to all those that hosted and participated in fundraising this last weekend. Jacoby's sisters attended both the "Just Dance" and "Zumba" for Jacoby events and had a blast at both!
Thanks to Sonja and Katherine for sending "Brad" a new hat, scarf, and blanket!

Goal #1...met!!!
So... Jacoby has been participating in rehab at home the last couple of weeks with a company called, "Rehab Without Walls". Her therapists, Colin and Ron have been great! Today, Jacoby reached her first goal and scratched her nose! Well, she does have to lay on her side to do it, but we are going to count it! She continues to gain strength in her arms and is able to spend ever increasing amounts of time sitting up working on balance. We've been working on transfers using a slide board and techniques for her to aid those transfers. We are still waiting on several pieces of equipment to be delivered, but she still has plenty to do. We are excited to expand her therapy as she continues to gain strength and stamina.
Although, she has no new motory function, Jacoby has had some slight sensory return. She can lightly feel touch in her fingertips and also in the some areas on the bottom of her feet!
We continue to be amazed and thankful for the outpouring of support by our community. It seems like each day we hear of a new fundraiser in the works! God continues to show His love and faithfulness through you all...
Ephesians 3:20-21Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think. Glory to him in the church and in Christ Jesus through all generations forever and ever! Amen.

Happy New Year!
Happy New Year to all and God Bless! It has been quite the whirlwind adjusting to life at the house. Everything seems to take so long, but we are slowly getting the whole family involved and are becoming a bit more efficient. We've also had quite a few visitors with it being the holiday week and all...
Jacoby is getting stronger each day. She was able to tolerate about 10 hours in her chair yesterday and continues to strengthen the muscles in her arms. She was able to get off all anti-spasm medications a few days ago and is tolerating the spasms she does get just fine.
She had a good time with the kids from her youth group the other night and we had a nice little New Years Eve get together with some extended family and a few neighbors. She ventured outside and around the ball fields by our house for the first time today. It was a little chilly out, but she had a good time. Nice to get some fresh air...
