Your prayers are working,.. keep them coming!

Update from Gretchen...

Jacoby just got out of surgery... the surgery went very well.

The Dr's are very hopeful that she will regain feeling in her arms again.  They found that the spinal chord had been completely pinched off but NOT SEVERED!  PRAISE GOD!!!  Although the Dr said using her legs again would be in the "miracle category", we are praying for and believing she can make a full recovery - she is a STRONG girl!

They are planning to move her to Good Sam's in Puyalup where she will begin recovery.

WITH GOD... ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE!  There is ALWAYS hope...

There are several fundraisers in the works.  We will have more information available on how you can help in the next several hours.

Thank you again for all of your prayers... keep them coming!

  4. Lots of prayers sent! I do not know jacoby or her family but I am a friend with a gym mom and in high school i was a gymnast. Prayers that Jacoby will make a full recovery I heard she is a very STRONG girl and sounds like she can make it through anything!!! Got works in mysterious ways!!!

Also, wondering on the Fundraiser account I do sell Pampered Chef and if you want to do something with fundraising let me know. 20% of sales would go directly to jacoby but i would also donate all of my commission so a total of at least 40% of sales. let me know if that is something you would want to do.

    GOd Bless

  16. Miles Family.... the Skelton family is diligently praying for all of you. We have posted your blog to our FB pages and, in doing so, I received a response from a friend in Alabama whose husband sustained similar injuries. She wanted me to share the following:

"Please tell her that even though we do not know her we are thinking about her. The journey ahead is a long hard road but miracles can happen. Please let her family know if they need someone to talk to about her injury and vent or ask questions or anything I am here. My husband suffered a c7 spinal injury and he is now paralyzed from the chest down. There is alot of resources out there to help them and I would love to do whatever I can for them."

Just wanted to share that so many people are thinking about you all and wanting to help in any way possible. If you'd like to take Rebecca up on her offer for a chat or venting session, please let me know and I will get you in contact with her. Again, so many prayers coming your way from all of us!

  17. Hi Jacoby, it's Mia's mom. I am so sorry to hear of your injury. But I want you to truly believe in the chance of significant recovery. My brother, Greg, was injured in a car accident when he was 19. He broke his neck at C4/C5 and was paralized. His surgery was also at Harborview. He had months of therapy. He worked SO hard and along the way he showed miraculous gains that put us all in wonder. Yes, it was a very long recovery and he never regained everything, but he walks, he got married, he has a son, he works and does most of the activities he enjoyed before his accident. God gives us strength to persevere. He gives family, doctors, therapists, and friends to help push when you think there is no more strength. Don't stop and never give up. When/if you are up to it, and your folks say it's ok, Greg would like to visit with you. You are all in our constant prayers. Vickie Glastetter

  21. Uber positive thoughts and prayers coming your way :) You can do it!!
In WA state there is a law, if your chld is in the hospital for over 30 days they are autonatically put on Medicaid as secondary insurance which will pick up any balance your primary insurance does not pay (we had Blue Cross). We were not told this until AFTER we left Harborview and were admitted to Childrens. Even tho the financial part of Davids injury were the last thing on my mind, they were still there and it was a huge relief to hear this. He was on this coverage for a year after his injury which got him through outpatient therapy too.
