She had a nice surprise visit from the Seahawks QB, Russell Wilson and his wife! Such a wonderfully nice couple. Thank you for taking the time to visit Jacoby and other kiddos at Children's today. Very cool.
Jacoby continues to amaze us and we are blessed by her willingness to work hard and try to maintain a positive outlook.

Please
no visitors until Saturday afternoon and Sunday. Therapy during the week takes up the whole day and is exhausting!
Thank you for understanding.

You look great! That's so exciting Russell Wilson visited with you! Thanks for helping with what prayers are needed. I will pray right now. Hope you have another great day!
ReplyDeleteSo glad to read Jacoby had a better day than the day before. Praying there'll be many more good days and much progress ahead of her! Thank you for keeping all of us up-to-date here on this blog site... living so far away it's the only way for us to stay connected. Wish I was closer to help somehow! Praying every day for all of you... "A miracale is what we deem impossible but God by His Grace makes happen anyway"
ReplyDeleteStay strong in the Lord, always!
Love and miss you all~ Marion and family
Hi Jacoby, We don't know each other. I'm just a mom with a daughter, living north of Seattle. I read about your story, and I'm following your blog every day. I just wanted to let you know people you don't even know are thinking of you and praying for you every day. You have a world of support gathered around you. Stay strong. You are loved.

"The Lord is my strength and my shield..." Jacoby I see this being lived out in your life as you are taking on each day with HIM! You are always in my prayers as well as the rest of your family. Hope to come see you soon, love you girl! ;)

PS Tell your mom - I love her too!!
You look wonderful. I have a feeling this is going to be a great week.
ReplyDeleteSo glad she is having better days! Just a quick warning- be CAREFUL taking backlafin (sp) or other meds to stop spasms. I have a spinal cord injury as well & was told not to take them early on from another family with a SCI. Spasms can be painful but very good for muscular strength & maintaining muscle mass. Anyways, just a thought:)
ReplyDeleteContinued prayers,

Jacoby and family: I'm a college teammate of Wendy Hussar Garland and a PT in St Louis who teaches PT students about treating people with spinal cord injuries (just these last couple of weeks that has been the topic). I've been cheering you on from here. My couple of pieces of advice as a gymnast and now PT is when balancing in sitting it is like learning to hold a handstand (don't be totally still but play back and forth a bit; your hamstring will be great for long sitting with legs on the mat) down the road when you are trying to push down through your arms and help with a transfer it is a similar push as pressing to a handstand. Let your muscle memories and great body awareness help you. I know it can be hard and frustrating. Best wishes! Joni Barry PT, DPT, NCS
ReplyDeleteSo glad today was better!
ReplyDeleteIt sure is great to see your beautiful smile. Your story hit close to home for us as my daughter, Shawna, is 14 and a Level 7 gymnast at Metropolitan. We love to see the posts and we wish you all the best in your recovery. Continue to be strong and remember that everyone is praying for your continued recovery.
ReplyDeleteLove your smile, Jacoby! God is good! Praying for you!
ReplyDeleteRussell Wilson...are you kidding me?! That is AWESOME! He is playing some GREAT football lately too! Man, NOW you are a ROCK STAR FOR SURE! I thought a standing back on the beam made you the coolest person ever, but I think you even trumped that! You know, you deserve every second of this encouragement from others! Everyone wants to see your body reach the full potential that it can...and we are all excited to see what that is! You have so many cheerleaders girl! How blessed you are! We are so proud and praying for more miracles to come your way girl! Oh, and that shirt that you are wearing! SOOOOOO CUUUUUTTTTTEEEEEE!!!
