Getting a little arm workout...
Billy Burke stopped by today!
Please
no visitors until we are released from the hospital. We are trying to
make sure we have "checked off" everything needed for us to get released
on Dec. 24. and need to be able to focus solely on Jacoby and her
care. Thank you for understanding.

ReplyDeleteHi Jacoby and family,
ReplyDeleteMy name is Annie Yurkewycz and I just learned about your situation from the USA gymnastics website. I am sorry to hear about your accident but have been excited reading about your progress. I'm 29 now but was a gymnast and soccer player growing up, and I played hard. I have had hand numbness and arm muscle weakness for years that finally needed to be dealt with. I just had a cervical fusion (C6 removal, bone graft and fusion of C5-C7) on December 3rd at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago. It was a complex surgery and the recovery was not easy. I cannot fully understand all you are going through Jacoby, but I can understand much of it. You are a strong young woman and as all athletes, you are determined and understand the amount of work you need to put in to reach your goals. I believe you will get back to a normal life. My advice is to keep working hard but don't overdo things. I am finding that I want to do so much, but my body needs time to heal. Listen to your body and keep staying positive like you have been. I wish you the best of luck Jacoby. I will keep you in my thoughts!
