A little progress goes a long way...

It may seem trivial to some, but we have been pretty excited the last day and a half as Jacoby has shown a little firing of the left triceps, some sensation of touch in her right thumb and pointer finger and can now do the pageant wave with both hands, although better with her left than right!  Please keep the prayers coming!
Thanks to Jordyn Wieber for sending a nice little care package with an encouraging note for Jacoby!  Many, many, many thanks to our family, friends, neighbors, church, Roach Gymnastics, WPFC, many staff and students in the Puyallup School District, the entire gymnastics community, and all of our community and friends throughout the Greater Puget Sound.  Special thanks to Gymnastics Unlimited and many vendors for their generosity and fundraising in conjunction with hosting the fall state meet.
Also, a huge thank you to the "house crew" that has volunteered so much time and energy into making our home ADA accessible for Jacoby.  We are hoping to accelerate her discharge date a bit and have Jacoby home by Christmas... so I guess that's our Christmas wish this year!

Romans 8:6 For to set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace.

Please no visitors until Saturday afternoon and Sunday.  Therapy during the week takes up the whole day and is exhausting!  Thank you for understanding.

  13. Oh my goodness, this is not trivial, this is an answer to prayer!!! Jacoby, I am so excited for you! Keep up the hard work and continue to trust Jesus, no matter what. Faith is what makes real the things we hope for. It is proof of what we cannot see. (Heb 11:1)
"May God, the source of hope, fill you with joy and peace through your faith in him. Then you will overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit." Romans 15:13

  15. This is not Trivial! I check this blog every day for status, we prayed for you in our Sunday school in North Carolina, I called my lunchtime radio show and asked them to pray for you (New Life Live) and I pray for you and your family daily. You don't know me but a sorority sister of mine has children who train at your school. theLord is working Jacoby.....keeping holding his hand...or is this case giving him the pageant wave!!!,

  17. Hi Jacoby, I am so happy to read that you are continuing to make progress. Your journey may be made of tiny steps but I can tell that each one brings joy and hope and praises to God.

Today I received an email from USAG that Aly Raisman has been trying to post a message to you on the blog but can't seem to get it to publish. Whenever she clicks the publish button, her message disappears! She even set up two different gmail accounts... I have given her some tips and maybe she'll have luck along the way, but she did want you to know she has been trying.

You stay in my prayers, Vickie Glastetter

  18. I'm very glad to hear that some of her sensation is coming back, and that she can actually do a wave with both hands! :D That is awesome, especially since it's only been a short time since the accident. I predict Jacoby will have a great recovery! And to that end, I'm thinking/sending very POSITIVE thoughts her way!

    Cheers from Redwood City, Calif.
